Hi everyone,

First off, we’d just like to say thanks to everyone who has supported us so far and welcome any newcomers to N1NE: The Splintered Mind.

We’re so grateful for all the support and feedback for the game we’ve received since we released our Alpha reveal trailer.

Today we are making an announcement that the team here has thought long and hard about. It’s not an easy decision for us but we feel it’s the best way for us to deliver a game that has a level of quality we as a team can be proud of.

And so, we are delaying the release of N1NE: The Splintered Mind Part 1.

We’d like to explain our decision making process in hopes of better communicating with all of you and strike a level of understanding for why we made the choice.

We originally had plans to release the game in 2019, however, as development went on, we found that certain elements were taking longer than expected mostly due to the fact that we are a small team of developers. Also, additional features, gameplay elements and sequences we’ve added to the game increased the scope of the project.

Overall, we want to provide the best possible experience, and being a new studio we know we’ve got one shot to make a good first impression.

Everyone here at OD1N studios is united by the goal of making a single player, narrative, detective game for VR with a high level of polish.

As such we feel that more time needs to go into the game in order to reach the high bar we’ve set for ourselves.

Our aim is to release in 2020 and we will reveal more details on the exact release schedule when we have a better idea internally.

Despite that, we also want to give you an update on where we are at and a look into the game.

We’ve got 5 fresh screenshots of various elements of N1NE: The Splintered Mind Part 1. Please note that these are subject to change but are a good idea of where we are at in development.

N1NE: The Splintered Mind Part 1 is a Cyberpunk Detective game that will be releasing exclusively for VR.

A few features that you can look forward to experiencing in N1NE are:

  • Branching dialogue system with fully voiced Characters including Avery N1NE (the main character)
  • An in-world inventory, Journal and Scanner system
  • Motion captured cutscene performances
  • Full body presence in VR (IK)
  • Rich narrative story with player choices that will effect the episode as well as the overarching season.

These are just a few gameplay features in N1NE, we’ve got more to share in the coming months that we’re really excited to reveal.

Please stay tuned as we will be releasing a new gameplay trailer to give you all a better idea on the mechanics and story of N1NE.

Sincerely,

The Team @ Od1n Studios
